It is a scientific virtual community that consists of scientists of ionian origin or current residence, working in Greece and abroad. The hall can host scientists from all over the world that would like to contribute development ideas on several disciplines in the Ionian islands.
The ionian hall of science will be constantly updated. When a significant number of scientists is added, we intend to organize thematic ionian scientist communities which can work remotely on several scientific fields.
The @ionianhallofscience is a crowdsourced database. Anyone can submit a scientist by clicking the “Propose this Scientist” button and fill in some details. If a scientist can not be found in the iniatial scientist dataset that we use, you can submit yourself or someone you know for inclusion anyway by using the form. Please read the eligibility criteria first.

The @ionianhallofscience is being organized by the “Hellenic and Ionian Diaspora Research Lab” at the Digital Media and Communication Department of the Ionian University. Head of the Lab is Associate Professor Agisilaos Konidaris. There is a team of scientists leading this project. Click here to see the team.

No, there is no funding whatsoever at this time. The Ionian hall of science initiative is an internal, self sustained research project at the “Hellenic and Ionian Diaspora Research Lab” in the Digital Media and Communication Department of the Ionian University. We are always seeking funding so we can further extend the scope of the project.
